It’s the Plymouth Farmers Market opening weekend in River Park Square. The market always opens on the Saturday of the Mother’s Day holiday and is open for 23 weeks, with its final day being Saturday, October 12th. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Market Manager Tom Keb has been with the market for 22 years and has only missed 5 Saturdays. He is extremely proud of the market, which started with only six vendors many years ago. When the city designed River Park Square, they had specific plans for the farmers market, now with about 40 vendor spaces available.
Kids can plant a small bucket for their moms at the Plymouth Farmers Market this week. The elementary school children will sing, and the Boy and Girl Scouts will serve pancakes and sausage.
Items available for the first day of the market include asparagus and greens, flowers and garden plants, cheeses, honey, maple syrup, soaps, Amish baked goods, pork and beef, eggs, salsa and jams, popcorn, and more.
Meet your friends and neighbors this Saturday at the Plymouth Farmers Market and support local, small businesses.
