Illinois State Police now say a rural Lawrence County man died in a two-vehicle accident Sunday, August 1st.
The fatal mishap occurred on the Bee Branch Road east of Pinkstaff in rural northern Lawrence County when a side-by-side vehicle being driven by 37-year-old Brad Blomgren failed to stop at a stop intersection and collided with a Lawrence County Ambulance Service vehicle called out to responded to a reported water rescue. Blomgren was pronounced dead at the scene while two passengers riding with him, one his daughter, were injured and taken to the hospital. Members of the ambulance crew were also hurt in the accident.
