A 72-year-old Fulton County woman died Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. 31 and State Road 110.
The Indiana State Police Peru District is investigating the crash, which occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. on November 12.
According to Master Trooper Todd Trottier's preliminary investigation, Sharon Roth of Fulton County was driving a 2018 Chevrolet and was attempting to cross U.S. 31 to travel eastbound on State Road 110 when she turned into the direct path of a northbound 2021 Ford.
The Ford was driven by Marija Bilic, 45, of Jenison, Michigan, who also had a juvenile passenger in the vehicle.
The force of the collision caused one vehicle to come to rest in the northbound lanes of U.S. 31, while the other ended up on the east side of the highway, off the roadway.
Roth sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Marshall County Coroner's Office.
Bilic and the juvenile passenger were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
