The Marshall County Emergency Management Agency has immediately returned Marshall County to a normal travel status.
A Travel Advisory was issued Saturday afternoon due to a wintry mix bringing snow, sleet, and freezing rain to Marshall County. Travel conditions were less than ideal as roads began to ice over. With temperatures warming up, even the untreated roads have improved.
EMA is closely monitoring the potential for a winter storm later this week. A system is expected to bring moderate snow accumulations and the potential for more freezing rain. EMA Director Jack Garner said, “It appears the system will move in Wednesday afternoon/evening and continue into Thursday. This forecast is early and will certainly shift over the next 48 hours as the National Weather Service gains more confidence.”
Citizens should monitor weather conditions closely and check EMA’s Facebook page, the Marshall County App, and the National Weather Service for updates on this potential storm.
Thank you to all public safety personnel for keeping Marshall County’s residents safe during the travel advisory and for your preparation for this week’s event.
