With the days winding down to early vote in Putnam County, the response has been "very well," according to local officials.
According to Stacia Hathaway, Putnam County Election Deputy, over 3,400 people have voted in person in the courthouse since Oct. 8 and another 465 have mailed in absentee ballots.
"The closer we get to election day, I am sure that the numbers will go up significantly," Hathaway told The Putnam County Post.
Early voting will be held the next Saturdays, on Oct. 26 and Nov. 2, at both the Putnam County Courthouse and the Bainbridge Community Building. Voting will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In addition, any registered voter in Putnam County may vote on the second floor of the Putnam County Courthouse from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday until Noon on Monday, Nov. 4. The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5 for the general election. A voter must provide a government issued photo ID before casting a ballot in person.
