Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters and the County Commissioners hope the County Council will support additional funding for additional road work in the subdivisions.
During Monday’s Commissioners meeting, Peters said it was mentioned at the most recent subcommittee meeting and County Council meeting that Peters should ask for additional funding to complete some road work on a couple of subdivisions around Plymouth.
Peters said, “Due to the late-season paving, it would be hot mix material and the subdivisions we are possibly looking at would be Forest Hills, Crest Lane, Oak Crest, Dee Drive and Tall Oaks.
Peters asked for a motion to move forward with the subdivision road work, and Commissioner Jesse Bohannon made the motion for additional paving project contingent on the Council’s funding. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Adam Faulstich and unanimously approved by the commissioners.
Bohannon clarified, saying, “This is additional work not already in the county’s road plan. He said it is reflective of the commissioners and hopefully of the council’s commitment to continue to do more work than we normally would. The additional funds will come from the General Fund.”
