Officer Enyart of the Plymouth Police Department was dispatched to 2535 North Michigan Street, the Economy Inn, on Monday at 7 a.m. for a reported domestic battery.
The woman involved in the assault had moved to a different room to wait for the police.
During the officer’s investigation, it was discovered that the woman had multiple bruises on her body.
Brayden Hochstedler, 21 years old, was taken into custody following statements and evidence of injuries. He has a booking address in South Bend, but told city police he is from Plymouth.
Hochstedler was booked into the Marshall County Jail for domestic battery and is being held on a $1500 cash bond. He has an initial court hearing scheduled for Dec. 16 in Marshall Superior Court III.
