Fairfield was dominant in winning the annual Matt Scherer Invitational Track and Field Meet Wednesday at Red Hill Jr/Sr High School in Bridgeport.
The Lady Mules won the girls competition with 182 points with Flora a distant 2nd with 97.5 points. The host Red Hill Lady Salukis were 3rd with 70 points, the Lawrenceville Lady Indians 4th with 66.5 points, Vincennes Rivet 5th with 55 and Oblong-Palestine-Hutsonville (OPH) 6th with 14.
Lexi Brooke of the Lady Indians did win the 3200-meter run in a time of 14:44.5
The Mules captured the boys meet with 176.5 points followed by Flora with 161. OPH was 3rd with 68.5, host Red Hill was 4th with 42, Lawrenceville 5th with 33 and Vincennes Rivet 6th with 20 points.
Next meet scheduled for both Red Hill and Lawrenceville is the Robinson Girls Invitational Friday.
