Bertha L. Jerrell, age 83, of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away Monday, October 26, 2026 at Gentle Care Nursing Home in Vincennes, Indiana.
Bertha L. Jerrell, 83, of Vincennes, passed away Monday, October 26, 2026 at Gentle Care Nursing Home in Vincennes, Indiana.
She was born June 24, 1943, in Lawrence County, the daughter of Raymond L. Kasinger and Mary Bledsoe Kasinger. She married Richard L. Jerrell, Sr. on July 4, 1964 and he preceded her in death on November 11, 2007.
Bertha worked as a ward clerk at United Methodist Village and later at Walmart in Vincennes, Indiana. She was a member of Faith of the Nazarene Church. Bertha enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She especially enjoyed camping, traveling to Gulf Shores and visiting flea markets with her husband, Richard. Bertha had a special love for dogs and cats and treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Preceding Bertha in death were her parents; her husband, Richard; siblings, Sherrill Kasinger, Bill Kasinger, John Kasinger and James Kasinger.
Survivors include: children, Richard L. (Judith) Jerrell, Jr. of Vincennes, Indiana, Mary R. Johnson of Vincennes, Indiana, Rebecca L. (Thomas) Vincent of Vincennes, Indiana; siblings, Gayle Potts of St. Francisville, Illinois, Vance Kasinger of Bridgeport, Illinois; grandchildren, Cory Jerrell, Justin (Amanda) Jerrell, Aspen Day, Sierra (Brad) Thompson, Hailey (Justin) Cochran, and Logan Vincent; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 2, 2026, 12:00 p.m. (Central time) at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. till the service hour of 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
