The Edwards County Lions broke open a high-scoring contest with 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th and went on to pick up a 9-7 win at home Wednesday in Albion over the Red Hill baseball Salukis.

The hosts scored 9 times on only 5 hits and made an error. The Salukis scored 7 runs on 8 hits and had 2 errors. A big day at the plate for Avery Arbuckle for Red Hill as he had 3 hits and 3 RBI, Carter Davis added 2 hits and 2 RBI, and Jaxon Kiser had 2 hits and an RBI, but it was not enough.

Brody Wattles went only 2 1/3 inning to pick up the pitching loss. The Salukis are now at 8-4 and will be off until Saturday when they host Cowden-Herrick in a doubleheader Saturday at the Tank Farm in Bridgeport at 10 a.m.
