Friday, April 12, marked a special occasion at Washington Discovery Academy as the school welcomed the event: "Donuts with Grownups"!
The day was filled with sugary treats from Family Express, and a chance for parents and guardians to step into their child's school day.
In classrooms across WDA, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and guardians, sat side by side with their students, enjoying breakfast and coloring together.
One of the highlights of the event was the opportunity for our grownups to connect with each other. Guardians mingled, and grandparents shared stories, forming connections that extend beyond the school walls.
As the morning went on, participants had the chance to walk the halls to witness some of the recent renovations at the school. From updated classrooms to vibrant new spaces, the event offered a glimpse into the evolving landscape of Washington Discovery Academy.
Washington Discovery Academy's "Donuts with Grownups" was more than just a morning of sweet treats—it was a heartwarming reminder of the power of shared experiences and the importance of family involvement in a child's education. As the school continues to nurture these connections, it sets the stage for a bright and promising future for all its students.
Principal Josh Overmyer said, “Today was great. It was so fun seeing our families, getting them in our remodeled building, and encouraging more parental involvement. As I continue in this role, I aim to create more opportunities for families to get involved.”
WDA would like to thank their PTO for their dedication, Family Express for the delicious donuts, and all of the grownups who came out to make this experience special.
