Residents in Vermillion County now have a new way to stay in touch with what is going on in their respective communities.
County leaders announced Vermillion County is now using a new text messaging service, TextMyGov, with an aim at keeping residents informed, as well as letting residents receive important notifications and find information as to when meetings or elections are.
Those wishing to be in the know can opt-in by texting 80946 and then confirming by responding with “YES” to a text.
The service will cover updates from various departments, including health, highway, and sheriff notifications. Residents can opt-out anytime by texting STOP.
