Marshall County Sheriff Matthew Hassel is proud to announce that Benjamin McFarland of Tippecanoe has been selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Indiana Sheriffs' Association Scholarship Fund for the second consecutive year.
McFarland, a graduate of Triton High School, has just completed his freshman year at Purdue Fort Wayne, where he is majoring in Criminal Justice. Having also received the ISA scholarship in 2025, the back-to-back recognition is a testament to his dedication to pursuing a career in law enforcement.
The Indiana Sheriffs' Association Scholarship Fund was established to provide college scholarships to qualified students who are committed to furthering their education and careers in the law enforcement field. In 2026, the fund awarded a total of 40 scholarships to deserving students across the state.
Sheriff Hassel expressed pride in McFarland's achievement, recognizing it as a reflection of the strong commitment to public service that the Marshall County Sheriff's Department strives to foster in the next generation of law enforcement professionals.
