Blue River Community Foundation (BRCF) and Su Casa are proud to announce the opening of a new Su Casa office in Shelbyville, expanding access to critical support services for Latino families in Shelby County and surrounding communities.
The new office, located in the Blue River Community Foundation building at 54 W. Broadway Street (photo), represents a collaborative effort to meet the growing needs of the local Latino community and strengthen access to trusted resources and support services.
Since 1999, Su Casa has served Latino families across south and central Indiana by helping remove barriers and increase access to essential services. Through this expansion into Shelbyville, Su Casa will provide more direct and accessible support for local families while continuing to build strong partnerships throughout the community.
“Blue River Community Foundation is committed to building a stronger community where all families have the opportunity to thrive. Through conversations with local leaders and organizations including St. Joseph Catholic Church, Shelbyville Central Schools, and MHP (Major Health Partners), we have heard repeatedly that connecting Latino families to services and resources can be challenging due to language, trust, transportation, and other barriers. Bringing Su Casa into our community is an important step toward breaking down those barriers and ensuring families have access to the support they need.” said BRCF's Jennifer Jones. “As Shelby County’s Latino population continues to grow, we recognize the importance of ensuring families have access to necessary services and support. We are excited to welcome Su Casa into our building and our community.”
Su Casa’s mission is to increase self-sufficiency, promote health, foster economic independence, and ensure Latino families feel safe and connected in the communities they call home.
“We are incredibly thankful for the support of Blue River Community Foundation and excited to establish a presence in Shelbyville,” said Ashley Caceres of Su Casa. “Having a local office allows us to better serve Latino families by making services more accessible and strengthening relationships with community partners.”
The Shelbyville office will offer Family Support Services, including:
- Connections and referrals for housing, food, employment, medical services, school enrollment, and financial aid applications
- Translation services
- Family goal setting and support
- Resource connections
- Legal service referrals
- Advocacy and community support
The office will be open:
- Mondays and Tuesdays from noon to 5 p.m.
- Fridays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to ensuring all members of the community have access to the resources, support, and opportunities they need to succeed. BRCF is supporting Su Casa’s work in Shelby County as a component of the GIFT IX Community Support Grant opportunity through the Lilly Endowment Inc.
