Statewide Amber Alert cancelled after baby found safe; suspect arrested

A statewide Amber Alert was issued early Thursday, but later cancelled for a missing 6-month-old in northwest Indiana.

Many woke up to their phones buzzing to the Amber Alert that stated a 6-month-old girl from Hammond had been abducted around 7:30 a.m. on May 21.

Just a few hours later, around 10:30 a.m., Hammond police reported the girl, 6-month-old Devaeyah Lucas Bell, had been found safe at a hotel in Schaumburg, Illinois. The suspect in the disappearance, Deandry Sabbs, 31, was also arrested at the hotel.
