A Marshall County Sheriff's Department sergeant was injured this morning (2/23/26) when his patrol vehicle was struck by a motorist while he was investigating another crash at the intersection of U.S. 31 and U.S. 30.
Sergeant Brown was conducting a traffic investigation when the incident occurred, resulting in severe damage to both his patrol vehicle and the civilian vehicle involved in the collision. Following the crash, Sgt. Brown was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries and released, according to department officials. The extent of his injuries was not immediately disclosed.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the sergeant's patrol car was determined to be operating without a valid license and taken into custody at the scene and arrested.
