A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle leaving the Fireworks Show at the Blueberry Festival Sunday night.
Just after 10 p.m., August 31st, Plymouth Patrolmen Thornton and Allen were conducting foot patrols in Centennial Park during the Blueberry Festival when they were advised of a vehicle that had struck a person, resulting in injuries.
The officers located the victim southeast of Randolph Street and Plymouth-Goshen Trail. The male sustained a minor ankle injury, and a witness was able to identify the suspect as Matthew Colglazier, 52, of Niles, Michigan. The victim and witness said Colglazier had intentionally struck him with a vehicle because he was angry pedestrians were not moving out of his way fast enough following the fireworks.
Paramedics from Plymouth Fire attended to the victim, and Colglazier was placed under arrest. He was then transported to Marshall County Jail and booked on a preliminary felony charge of battery with a deadly weapon.
