There is good news from the National Weather Service in Lincoln, Illinois.

They have discontinued the Flood Warning issued last week for the Embarras River at Lawrenceville.

The river fell below its 30-foot flood stage at Lawrenceville Monday evening and was measured Tuesday morning at 27.20 feet and falling. The river crested at just over 31 feet over the weekend and had been steadily falling.

The river levels had been driven up by recent heavy rains in the upper Embarras River basin last week. Additional rain is forecast for the region this week, but is not expected to cause additional water rises or flooding.
