The Lawrence County Fire Chiefs have announced that Lawrence County is now under a burn ban until further notice.
A campfire with an approved fire ring is the only fire that is acceptable.
The National Weather Service says dry conditions will lead to a potential for field fires Monday afternoon, especially during harvest activities.
On Tuesday, southerly winds around 15 mph with gusts 20-30 mph, combined with continued dry conditions, could lead to rapid spread of any field fires.
There are no rain chances listed in the weather forecast this week.
