For the second year in a row, Lawrenceville Indian head basketball coach Tad Shick has been named as the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) District 20 Coach of the Year.
Shick led the 2025-26 Indian team to a historic, storybook season with a record of 35-3. They won the Capital Classic championship, the Little Illini Conference regular season and tournament titles, the Class 1A North Clay regional, the Class 1A Macon Meridian sectional, the Class 1A Charleston super-sectional and finished 3rd in the IHSA 1A state finals. His coaching record over two years at the helm of Indian basketball is 59-11.
One of the main cogs in the Indian season, senior forward Jayden Goff was selected to the Steve Tappas Illinois Media Class 1A All-State team as an Honorable Mention. The 6'5" 175-pound Goff averaged almost 15 points and 7 rebounds per game for the season. He was a first team Little Illini Conference (LIC) pick and an Associated Press (AP) Class 1A First Team member.
