Lawrence County States Attorney Brady Waldrop has announced that two local men have been sentenced to prison during recent appearances in Lawrence County Circuit Court.
21-year-old Jayce Pickett of Lawrenceville was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Restraint, a Class 3 Illinois Felony and Domestic Battery, a Class 4 Illinois Felony. He was given 3 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections (DOC) to be followed by up to 6 months of mandatory supervised release. Pickett was also charged with Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a Class 3 Illinois Felony and was sentenced to 2 1/2 years with the DOC and 6 months of mandatory supervised release.
47-year-old Derrick Scott of Lawrenceville was arrested for Aggravated Battery, a Class 3 Illinois Felony and had previously been placed on probation but violated the terms. He received 3 years in the DOC to be followed up by up to 6 months of mandatory supervised release.
