Friday is a special day at the Toyota Boshuku, Illinois LLC production plant located east of Lawrenceville. The company is celebrating it's 25th anniversary at it's 100 Trim Masters Drive location. In 1999, the facility initially opened as Automotive Technology Systems (ATS) and was eventually purchased in 2008 by Toyota Boshuku and in October of 2008 the name was officially changed to Toyota Boshuku Illinois LLC. The firm is one of the largest employers in Lawrence County and the region. It manufactures and sells seats, door trims and other interior items for the Toyota Highlander, Sequoia and other vehicle models produced at the TMMI plant located at Princeton in southwestern Indiana.
