Travelers in Knox County (Ind.) and Lawrence County (Ill.) are getting early notice of a bridge closing in mid-November.
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is saying that beginning on or around the date of Monday, November 16th, 2026, work crews will close Indiana State Road 441 at the Lincoln Memorial Bridge between Vincennes and Westport.
The bridge will be shut down to vehicular traffic in order to continue work on repairing the bridge facade. It is anticipated that the project will last through March of 2027.
Traffic will be detoured to U.S. 41 and U.S 50. However, local traffic will have access up to the point of closure. Motorists should be aware of the closure and plan to use the detour and other alternative routes when work gets underway.
