The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that the State Road 44 ramp to I-74 westbound is set to close on or after Monday, June 1 in Shelby County.
Due to ongoing construction and lane width restrictions on I-74, the S.R. 44 ramp will close in the interest of driver safety. The ramp is expected to be closed through the end of the year.
During this time, the official detour will follow I-74 eastbound, turn around at the State Road 244 interchange (Exit 119), and back onto I-74 westbound.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and use extra caution while traveling in and around work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
