51st District Republic State Senator Chapin Rose visited Lawrence County Thursday for a public forum with local officials.
The session was held at the Lawrenceville City Hall and was attended by representatives from the Lawrenceville City Council, Lawrence Unit #20 and Red Hill Unit #10, Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, Lawrence County Memorial Hospital, Lawrence County Fair Board, E-911, Lawrence County Board and the Emergency Management Agency.
Topic discussed included dealing with state regulations, rising school transportation costs, roads and other infrastructure and child care needs. Rose also briefed the group on state issues and the upcoming legislative session after the election in January. He also toured the hospital as part of his appearance.
Rose represents all or part of 12 area counties including Lawrence.
