Lawrence County (ILL.) emergency police, fire, and medical agencies have announced they will conduct a joint mock emergency drill next week.
It is scheduled for Tuesday, September 29th between Lawrenceville High School (LHS) and Ed Loeb football field in Lawrenceville. The mock drill is a simulated emergency exercise that allows the agencies to test their preparedness for a potential catastrophic event requiring co-operation and co-ordination. It is also held to demonstrate to high school students in both Lawrence Unit 20 and Red Hill Unit 10 the dangers of underage drinking and its deadly consequences.
The public is asked to be aware of the mock drill and stay away from the area where the exercise is being held in order to keep emergency personnel, students, and school staff safe. More details will be released as the date draws closer.
