Pulaski County Commissioners passed an ordinance earlier this week that will allow the use of off-road vehicles on county roads starting July 1.
The ordinance regulates the use of off-road vehicles, including golf carts, on public highways, bridges and roads in unincorporated areas of Pulaski County. It also states off-road vehicles can only be allowed on public roadways in Pulaski County from sunrise to sunset and the driver must hold a valid driver's license, carry proof of insurance and operate all vehicles in compliance with all traffic regulations.
For further safety purposes, the ordinance outlined rules against overloading the vehicles and states that riders on a golf cart or off-road vehicle must be over the age of 2. All off-road vehicle and golf carts must be inspected and issued a sticker before they can be operated on a roadway.
The registration can be found here. Forms may be taken to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department's Administrative Office during business hours, along with $25 cash only, for the issuance of annual ORV stickers.
