Lawrenceville Police Chief Jim White has released his departmental activity report for the month of May.
The department received 330 calls for an officer. Those officers dealt with 26 public nuisance complaints, 7 domestic interventions and 3 mental health calls. They were also involved in 11 assault and battery investigations, 9 drug investigations, 5 theft investigations and single cases of burglary, vandalism and a stolen vehicle. There were also 4 cases of child abuse and neglect and a single case of a missing person. Lawrenceville police made 14 felony arrests, 17 misdeameanor arrests and 3 juvenile arrests in may and also issued 6 ordinance violations. They also handled 10 traffic accidents-9 of those involved property damage and 1 was a case of hit and run. The department did lend it's assistance to the Lawrence County Sheriffs Department and the Illinois State Police 4 times in May while assisting emergency fire and medical services 6 times and the general public 10 times
