A man was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the chest and several people arrested on warrants and various charges in a Starke County incident.
The Starke County Sheriff's Office with the Knox Police Department, Hamlet Police Department, Walkerton Police Department, North Judson Police Department, Indiana State Police, Starke EMS, and the Washington Township Fire Department responded about 1 a.m. Sunday to the 9000 East Block of State Road 8, for a male with an apparent gunshot wound.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office helicopter unit was requested to assist. Dakwan Quinn, 20, of Rockford, Illinois, was transported to Memorial Hospital for a single gunshot wound to the chest.
Latazameshia Jones, 25, of Illinois, Daijash Quinn, 26, of Rockford, Illinois, and Andre Ligon, 43, of Iowa, were taken into custody on outstanding warrants.
Mack Jones, 32, of Illinois, was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct.
All subjects were transported to the Starke County Justice Center.
The Starke County Sheriff's office says the incident is an isolated event and not a threat to the community. It does remain under investigation.
