A local man charged with attempted murder has been sentenced to prison in Lawrence County Circuit Court after pleading guilty.
According to Lawrence County States Attorney Brady Waldrop, 47-year-old Keith Green of Bridgeport entered into a negotiated plea agreement to the charge stemming from an incident which occurred back in September of 2025.
Green was arrested after law enforcement authorities responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence which resulted in a stabbing.
Both the stabbing victim and Green suffered injuries in the fracas and were hospitalized with injuries.
After accepting the plea agreement in late March, Green was given a term of 23 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) to be followed by 3 years of mandatory supervised release.
