A Knox man was given a ten year sentenced by a Starke County judge this week after he was found guilty of a Level 4 Felony of child molesting in April.
According to court documents, a Starke County Circuit Court judge handed Aaron Brewer, 34, a ten-year prison sentence on Monday.
The Starke County Prosecutor's Office stated allegations against Brewer were brought to light when the Indiana Department of Child Services first contacted the Knox Police Department about an allegation of child molestation that was reported to have taken place during the fall of 2021 when the victim was around seven or eight years old. The child explained to the forensic interviewer that the events took place while alone with Brewer and claimed that Brewer allowed the victim to drive the family's pick-up truck. The victim stated they didn't tell anyone because they were scared of Brewer.
After a jury trial, Brewer was found guilty of felony child molestation on April 24. During Monday's sentencing Brewer indicated to the court he intended to appeal his sentence.
