The city of Bridgeport will hold the annual city-wide cleanup by Republic Services on Wednesday, May 28th. There will be curbside pickup of acceptable items starting early on the east side of the city and progressing west. Acceptable items include household furniture, mattresses (rolled in plastic), large toys, carpeting tied in 3-foot bundles, appliances not containing chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and hydrofluorocarbons (HCFCs) such as refrigerators and air conditioners. Excluded from pickup are construction debris, building materials, tires, paint, liquid waste, electronics, hazardous waste and items containing CFCs or HCFCs.
