A Crawford County man was sentenced this week in federal district court to over 14 years in prison on charges of Grooming and Engaging in Illegal Sexual Contact with a Minor.
34-year-old Nathaniel Gibson gave his female victim a phone and sent over an estimated 18,900 texts to her between March and September of 2023 and groomed her with romantic and flirtatious messages. In June of that year, he drove the then 13-year-old victim from Missouri to Arkansas where he engaged in an illegal sexual act with her. Gibson also did the same to the girl at his Crawford County residence.
He was taken into custody after an extensive investigation and plead guilty to the charges in January in U.S. District Court in St. Louis.
