Plymouth Police arrested three individuals over the weekend on charges ranging from operating while intoxicated to reckless driving.
At 3 a.m. Sunday, Officer Witkowski conducted a traffic stop after a vehicle crossed the center line and nearly struck his patrol vehicle head-on at Lake and Westgate Avenues.
The driver, Agustin Gonzales-Trujillo, 20, of West Washington Street in Plymouth, was found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Officers also discovered that Gonzales-Trujillo does not possess a valid driver's license and is under the legal age to consume alcohol.
He was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, operating without ever obtaining a valid driver's license, and illegal consumption of an alcoholic beverage.
At approximately 10 p.m. Sunday, a Plymouth Police officer observed a vehicle traveling south on U.S. 31 near 9A Road at excessive speed. The officer confirmed the vehicle was traveling in excess of 94 mph in a posted 60 mph zone.
Following a traffic stop, the driver was identified as Cadyn Charles, 18, of Zionsville. Charles was arrested and lodged in the Marshall County Jail for reckless driving. He was held for 30 minutes on a $100 cash bond.
Just before 2 a.m. Monday, Officer Allen investigated a pickup truck parked diagonally across the entry/exit roadway of Northgate Mobile Home Park, located between Millea Liquor Store and Verizon Cellular.
Upon approaching the running vehicle, the officer observed a single occupant, later identified as Matthew Kingery, 42, of South Bend, asleep across the back seat.
When officers woke Kingery, he exhibited several signs of intoxication, was unable to clearly recall where he had dropped off a friend, and believed he was in South Bend rather than Plymouth.
Kingery was taken into custody for public intoxication and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked and held on a $350 cash bond.
All arrested individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
