Early Monday morning, April 15th, at approximately 12:50, Plymouth Police Officers responded to 334 South Plum Street after receiving reports that an adult male was found touching a juvenile inappropriately.
The suspect fled the home and was found a few blocks away by officers. The suspect provided a false name to officers, however, was later identified as Bayron Mayrena, 34 of the Plum Street address in Plymouth.
Mayrena was also found to have active warrants for his arrest.
As a result of the officer’s investigation, Bayron Mayrena was taken into custody and lodged at the Marshall County Jail for his outstanding arrest warrants, false informing, and child molestation. A court date was issued, and a cash bond was set at $3,300.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
