Gina Dingo Curl, CEO of Nubiano's Pizza, 714 E. Ninth St. in Rochester, is remaining hopeful about a reopening of the business on May 1.
The pizzeria has been closed for the past four months, after a diesel truck crashed into the building in late November, tearing through a wall, refrigerator, shelving, a prep cooler and sink, and even moved a 1,000-pound oven and hood until it hit the cooler.

Curl said the crash caused more than $200,000 worth of damage, but one thing she is thankful for is that nobody was injured.
"The community has really been great," she said. "It could have been worse. The money, the building, all of that is just material things. The main thing I'm thankful is that nobody was hurt. No employee were injured, even the driver was OK. That is the most important part to me during all of this. Things can be replaced, people can't."
Also the CEO to Bruno's Pizza in Logansport and Kokomo, Curl said she and her staff have been working hard to make sure Rochester residents had a chance to still get their Nubi's fix during the temporary close. Every few weeks, her team tries to make pop-up pizza delivery days to Rochester, with pick-up usually being in the Nubiano's parking lot. The last Rochester delivery day was March 20.
Curl said the best way to stay updated on Nubiano's Rochester delivery days, and details about reopening, is by following them on their business Facebook page.
