While the Putnam County Sheriff's Department and Indiana State Police continue to investigate a pair of incidents in Putnam County, a victim has been identified in a death last week.
According to Putnam County Sheriff Jarrod Baugh, Bobby McIntosh, 38, Greencastle, has been identified as the victim in a death near the 3000 block of U.S. 36 last week. An autopsy was scheduled in Marion County and local officials are awaiting results.
McIntosh's identification comes after deputies responded to a 911 call on July 31 of a man laying on the ground on U.S. 36. McIntosh was transported from the scene to an Indianapolis hospital, where he died from his injuries.
That incident prompted an investigation by the sheriff's department and Indiana State Police. Last week, a search warrant was issued on a vehicle of interest, and the vehicle was located in the Van Bibber Lake Estates housing addition in northwest Putnam County.
Baugh has said his department has an active investigation underway and deputies and investigators are investigating a potential crime.
Anyone with any information or who may have witnessed the incident on U.S. 36 is asked to call the Putnam County Sheriff's Department at 765-653-5115.
