A Warsaw man was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after a Plymouth Police officer determined he was driving on a suspended license — and the driver himself confirmed he still lacked the insurance that caused the suspension in the first place.
At approximately 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27th, Officer Fisher with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop at Oak Drive and U.S. 30 after identifying a vehicle whose driver had a suspended license. After confirming the driver matched his BMV photo, Officer Fisher identified him as Aaron Clark, 38, of Warsaw.
During the stop, Clark told the officer that his license was likely suspended due to a lack of insurance — and acknowledged that he still did not have insurance. Clark was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail on a charge of driving with no insurance with a prior conviction.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
