Mayor's Summer of Music spotlights Plymouth's own This Homemade Conspiracy this Friday night

The Mayor's Summer of Music concert series returns to River Park Square this Friday, July 25th, and for the fourth installment of the ten-concert season, the spotlight shines on a hometown act. This Homemade Conspiracy — the Plymouth-based alternative rock band also known as T.H.C. — takes the main stage from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Food trucks will begin serving at 5:30 p.m. As always, the concert is free and open to the public.

This Homemade Conspiracy has one of the more organic origin stories in the local music scene. The idea for the band was born in 2016 between apartment neighbors and friends Chandler Price and Konnor Smith, who would crank their amps from their respective homes and jam together through the walls. What started as a casual conversation about forming a band didn't fully take shape until 2021, when more like-minded musicians joined the fold and the group began building something real.

From apartments to a garage, to an automotive paint booth — where the lighting, they note, was great — and finally to their own personal studio, the band's journey has been one of steady, self-driven growth. They compiled their first sets in 2022 and spent that summer playing backyard shows for friends and family before moving on to local bars and venues around Plymouth. Since then, This Homemade Conspiracy has opened for national acts including Passafire, Hed PE, and UNCHAiNED, and performed at one of Indiana's biggest county festivals, the Marshall County Blueberry Festival — all before releasing their own original music.

Friday's concert is the fourth of ten free performances in this year's Mayor's Summer of Music series, made possible through the support of local sponsors with no tax dollars used. Bring a lawn chair and a cooler and come enjoy a free night of live music in downtown Plymouth's River Park Square.
