A 22-year-old Plymouth man is facing serious charges after police responded to a report of a physical domestic disturbance at the Westgate Apartments on Thursday morning.
Plymouth Police were dispatched to 2000 Westgate Avenue at approximately 9:54 a.m. on April 23 after receiving a 911 call reporting that a female was being battered at the location.
Following an investigation at the scene by Officer Wally Derifield, police arrested Alex Johnson, 22, who resides at the Westgate Avenue address.
Johnson was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on charges of domestic battery in the presence of a child less than 16 years old, as well as simple strangulation.
He is currently being held at the county jail on a $5,000 cash bond.
