Joyce A. (Nier) Hatcher, 83, of Plymouth

Joyce A. (Nier) Hatcher, 83, of Plymouth passed away on Tuesday July 7, 2026, at Millers Merry Manor in Plymouth, surrounded by her devoted and loving family.

Joyce was born in Argos on February 4, 1943, to the late Robert and Marie (Brock) Nier, who raised her to become one of the kindest people anyone should ever encounter.

Joyce married the love of her life, Larry E. Hatcher Sr., on June 9, 1963, and shared 46 amazing years together before his passing in 2009.  While obviously upset due to his passing, she never once let this get in the way of continuing to take care of, and love for, the wonderful family they had built together.

Joyce was a beautiful, loving, and hard-working wife, mother, and grandmother. She was always supportive of her husband, children, grandchildren - and that’s not even accounting for all of the additional children she would care for daily, just out of the love and kindness of her heart.

Everyone who encountered Joyce was always met with love and kindness, whether they were family, friends, or complete strangers.  She made it very well known that love is beautiful, and she was the true embodiment of love.  From the bottom of her heart, she appreciated, loved, and understood everyone, no matter what they had been going through.

If there is anything we’ve learned from Joyce, it’s that having a kind and caring heart is what truly matters in this world, and we will never forget that.  She showed this in her daily life and truly took it to heart, and we just hope that anyone who has ever met her can understand and truly reciprocate these kinds of feelings, as she would’ve wanted.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Kathy Hatcher, as well as her grandchildren: Mariah Norwick and Justin (Kaytlyn) Nettrouer, and her great-grandchildren: Lincoln, Carson, and Bellamy. Her siblings also survive: Barb Nier, Sue Weaver, and Bill Nier.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Sr., her son, Larry Jr., and her beloved parents, who again raised such an inspiring individual.

Joyce will be interred at a later date at Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
