Bottorff arrested on domestic battery charges

A 34-year-old Plymouth woman was taken into custody Sunday evening following a domestic disturbance that resulted in battery charges involving minors.

According to a news release from Deputy Alex Truty of the Marshall County Sheriff's Department, officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 11,000 block of 5B Road in Plymouth at 6:19 p.m. on Sunday, May 3rd.

During the investigation, officers determined that a battery had occurred in the presence of minors at the residence. Linda D. Bottorff was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail.

Bottorff was booked on preliminary charges of domestic battery in the presence of a minor and battery by bodily waste. She is currently being held on a $1,500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed, and there is only probable cause to believe that a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings, entitled to be represented by counsel, and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
