Plymouth woman arrested on drug charges following traffic stop in LaPaz by Town Marshall

A Plymouth woman was taken into custody Friday morning after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to the LaPaz Police Department.

Melissa Marie Gamble, of Plymouth, was arrested on August 21, at approximately 10:00 a.m. near the intersection of Kimble and Cortland Streets in LaPaz.

According to a news release issued by LaPaz Town Marshal Dan Sammartano, he initiated the traffic stop after observing a vehicle displaying an expired license plate. During the investigation, authorities determined that Gamble's driving privileges had been previously suspended.

Gamble was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail. A subsequent inventory search of the vehicle turned up two small baggies containing suspected methamphetamine along with a glass smoking device, police said.

She was booked into the Marshall County jail on three charges: driving while suspended with a prior, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her cash bond was set at $1,500.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Department assisted with this case.
