1st United Methodist Church served up FREE Community Dinner this Wednesday

The First United Methodist Church in downtown Plymouth is opening its doors to the community this Wednesday, August 26th, for its monthly FREE Community Dinner — and this time, the volunteers are prepared.

Last month's overwhelming response drew nearly 300 people to a dinner planned for 200, and the church had to turn some folks away when the food ran out. This month, volunteers are planning for up to 300 and hope everyone who comes through the door leaves well-fed.

The August Community Dinner menu features sloppy joe sandwiches, potato salad, veggies, fruit, and brownies. Dinner is served in the Fellowship Hall from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with carry-out options available for those who prefer to take their meal to go.

The monthly Community Dinner has clearly struck a chord with the Plymouth community. What began as a gathering planned for 100 has grown into an event that draws residents from across the area — a testament to both the quality of the food and the warmth of the welcome.

Donations are always welcome but never required. The dinner is completely free, and the church wants every member of the community to feel comfortable coming through the doors, whether they can contribute financially or not.

The First United Methodist Church is located at 400 North Michigan Street in downtown Plymouth. The Fellowship Hall will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. this Wednesday evening.
