The Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association has released its preseason poll and Evansville Mater Dei was voted No. 1 in 2A. Barr-Reeve was No. 2 ahead of Lafayette Central Catholic, Greencastle, Triton Central, Wapahani, Eastern (Greentown), Sullivan, Eastbrook and Adams Central.
Also receiving votes were: Boone Grove, Providence, Bluffton, Park Tudor, Westview, University, Delphi, Shenandoah, Oak Hill, Western Boone and Brownstown Central.
Crown Point was ranked No. 1 in Class 4A with Center Grove, Noblesville, Westfield, Evansville North, Fishers, Zionsville, WL Harrison, Penn and Bloomington South completing the top 10.
In Class 3A, Andrean starts the season atop the poll. Western is No. 2 followed by New Palestine, Jasper, Guerin Catholic, Roncalli, New Prairie, Gibson Southern, Cascade and Vincennes Lincoln.
Also receiving votes in the 3A poll are Indianapolis Cathedral, Batesville, Northwood, Heritage Hills, Twin Lakes, DeKalb, Hanover Central, Greensburg, Norwell, Tri-West, Northwestern, Delta and Yorktown.
Kouts was named preseason No. 1 in Class A. Clinton Prairie is No. 2 ahead of Northeast Dubois, Knightstown, Indianapolis Lutheran, Rossville, Triton, Shakamak, and West Washington, Union City and Fort Wayne Canterbury in a three-way tie.
Also receiving votes were Frontier, Riverton Parke, Tri-County, Vincennes Rivet, Hauser, Covington and South Decatur.
