Red Hill Saluki high school golf will soon return as a sport.
That after the Lawrence Unit #20 Board of Education took action Thursday night at their monthly session.
They moved to approve a 2-year golf co-op agreement with the Unit #10 District which will have them take over the program.
Unit #20 had held the co-op for the sport for the last several years, but with a shift of student participants in the program to Unit #10, it was decided that they would be better served to administer the logistics of the sport including getting a coach, setting up a schedule, etc.
Golf matches would still be played at the Lawrence County Country Club course.
With the shift, the Illinois High School Association will also now recognize Red Hill High School as the lead school of the sport.
