Jason Bannister from Bloomfield, Indiana was dominant from beginning to end as he won the 72nd Annual Lawrence County Open golf tournament sponsored by Faulkner Motors played Saturday June 6th and Sunday June 7th at the Lawrence County Country Club (LCCC) located west of Lawrenceville.
He shot 6 under par 66 on Saturday on the par-72 course and then followed that round up with a 7 under round of 65 on Sunday for a two-day total of 13 under 131. It was his first time playing at the LCCC. Finishing 7 shots behind with a 138 total in second place was Blake Claycomb of Vincennes and Vincennes University golfer Cameron Chattin tied with 2025 Open champion Jacob Zwilling for third each with 141. The 13 under total was the second lowest final score in tournament history.
Bannister is a University of Southern Indiana (USI) graduate who played collegiately at the Evansville school. He is currently the superintendent at the Rolling Meadows golf course in Spencer, Indiana.
