A strong second quarter broke open a close game and enabled the Lawrenceville Lady Indians to snap a five-game losing skid and defeat the Red Hill Lady Salukis 66-43 Thursday night at Lawrenceville.
The game was tied at 13 after one quarter before the hosts took control of the game with a strong pressing defense and a hot offensive streak to lead 31-17 at the half. The lead grew to 47-21 after three quarters.
Three scored in double digits for the Lady Indians. Addeline Sanders led all scorers with 25 points followed by Ava Cessna with 17 and Elise Crawford added 12. Only one double figure scorer for the Lady Salukis as Riley Moore had 12.
The Lady Indians are now 2-5 on the season and will play Saturday at 12 p.m. CT in a single varsity game at Washington Catholic in Indiana. The Lady Salukis have now lost two in a row and are 2-2 on the season. They will be at home in Bridgeport Saturday afternoon to host Sandoval.
