The Lawrenceville basketball Indians lost early but won late on the second day of the Effingham/Teutopolis Christmas Classic tournament.
Friday morning, the Tribe lost to Dixon 57-49 at Teutopolis. The Indians held 2 point leads at the half and after the third quarter, but could not hold on in the final period to suffer their second straight loss.
Jayden Goff had 16 points and Parker Hardiman 10 in the loss.
They rebounded in action Friday afternoon at Effingham with a 57-45 win over Belvidere. The Indians led by 4 at the half and extended the lead to 11 after three quarters enroute to snapping a two game losing streak.
Three were in double-digits for the Tribe-Jayden Goff with 15, Noah Wilson 14 and Zander Cessna 11.
The10-6 Indians will play late Saturday morning at 11:30 for 13th place against the Newton Eagles in an all Little Illini Conference matchup.
The Eagles beat Oregon 50-45 in overtime.
