Academy varsity LaCrosse defeats #7 Westfield WESTFIELD — Last night, the CMA Varsity Lacrosse team traveled to Westfield High School for a weeknight road match-up. The currently No.4 ranked Eagles defeats the No. 7 Shamrocks 10-5, advancing the team to to 6-5 on the year, and 5-3 for in-state play. The three losses on their record came to the No. 1, 2, and 3 teams in the state. The most notable performance of the night came from junior goaltender Chris Roth (Naperville, IL), who recorded a career-high night of saves with 21 (80.77%). He currently carries a season total save percentage of 63%. Freshmen Kaleb Hiltz also recorded five of the team's goals during the contest, while emerging sophomore midfielder Daniel Muth (East Grand Rapids, MI) recorded his first goal of the season, as well as tallied one assist. The CMA Varsity team will host Brebeuf Jesuit at home on Saturday, May 18. That game is scheduled to begin at 1:00pm on Oliver Field. Following that, they will begin state-tournament play on May 22nd when they host a first-round game.
